Association

The association “Gedenkstätte Speier Angenrod” is of benefit to the public and owns the Speier house. Members are inhabitants of Alsfeld and other villages who are interested in local history. The association is in contact with relatives of the Speier family and others most of whom are living in the USA. We continue collecting information and material about Jewish life in the Vogelsberg area, focusing on the lives of rural Jews.

Our Goals

• Preserving the memory of a multicultural Vogelsberg with people living together, sharing their different cultural approaches
• Conservation of  cultural heritage and modern usage of special buildings
• Learning from history to enable people to resist exclusion and nationalist myths

The financial basis for our commitment is laid by money from aids, donations, and membership dues. Please support our work by joining us as a member or by giving donations.
